Outlook Express POP3 Email Setup

If you have not already setup your POP3 email in your control panel [cPanel] you will need to do so before setting up your email in Microsoft Outlook. Please go back and read how to setup your email account in your cPanel if you have not done so.

This tutorial will explain how to setup a Corporate Pages POP3 email account up in Microsoft Outlook Express Version 6. Some versions of Microsoft Outlook Express are slightly different but these settings remain the same.

 Open Outlook Express and at the top menu go to > Tools >Accounts >

The box you see below will appear.

Make sure the mail tab is selected. Click "Add" and select "mail".

Type in your name and click next.

In the new window that appeared type your email address. Click next.

In the next window "POP3" should already be selected. If not select it. Type in mail.yourdomainname.com per the image below and click next.

IMPORTANT STEP In the next window the "Account name" will probably just say your name. Change it so it reflects your full email address.

Type in your password [The password you chose when you previously setup your POP3 in cPanel]. Make sure the check mark to remember password is checked. Click next.

We have not quite finished, but click finish to be taken back to the first window.

Now you will see your domain name in the window. mail.yourdomainname.com. Click on it with the left mouse click one time to hi-lite as illustrated below. Once it is hi-lited click "Properties".

A new window opens. Make sure the "General" tab is selected at the top. You will see some of your information is there. Add your "Organization" name and "Reply to" email address if it is not there. Use your email address for the reply to address.

Make sure the check mark is in place where it says "Include this account...."

Then at the top click the "Servers" tab to open the next window.

The new window opens. make sure "Servers" is selected at the top. Verify your information per the illustration below.

Check "My server requires authentication". Then click "Settings"

A new window opens. Make sure it looks the same as the illustration below. Then click ok.

After you click ok you will be back at the window with the tabs at the top. Now select the "Advanced" tab at the top. Make sure it says 26 in your Outgoing mail [SMTP] setting.

Then click "Apply" then ok.

You will now be back at the original image and you are finished. Click close and test your email.
